Covid-19 (Corona Virus)
Updated 01 November 2020
Following the new Government guidance and National Lockdown commencing on 5 November 2020, Bird Charles Surveyors Ltd have now revised their working practice.
As chartered surveyors, much of our work involves inspections of property and therefore we are taking extra precautions when undertaking surveys of properties.
Our surveyors will take all reasonable precautions when undertaking surveys and will ensure they have used hand sanitiser before entering the property. Our surveyors are also equipped with gloves, face masks and shoe covers to minimise any potential risk of exposure to Covid-19. To comply with Government restrictions on mixing of households, we will require properties to be vacant during inspections, unless there is a medical or other mitigating factor that means the property cannot be vacated. In all circumstances there must not be more than 2 persons plus our surveyor in the property during the survey inspection.
We will check with all vendors and occupiers, not more than 24hrs before a survey inspection, that there are no persons in the property who are self-shielding or are exhibiting typical or atypical symptoms of Covid-19. We will also check that there are no at-risk or vulnerable persons at the property.
SURVEYS MAY BE CANCELLED OR POSTPONED LAST MINUTE if access to the property is not possible due to infection or self-isolation of occupants or those providing access. Similarly our surveyors will not attend the property if they, or any members of their household, have any Covid-19 symptoms. In the event that any of our surveyors fall ill with Covid-19 symptoms, we will make contact with the owners or occupiers of properties visited within the preceeding 14 days.
We continue to work in line with current Government guidance as outlined on the www.gov.uk website and will continue to monitor and adapt to the situation as appropriate.
