Covid-19 (Corona Virus)
Updated 24 March 2020
Following the new Government stay at home policy announced on 23 March 2020, Bird Charles Surveyors Ltd have now revised their working practice.
As chartered surveyors, much of our work involves inspections of property and therefore, we believe we fall out of the work at home policy issued by the Government.
We will continue to undertake surveys of properties until such time that Government advice is further clarified.
TO ENSURE SURVEYS ARE CONDUCTED SAFELY, WE WILL ONLY INSPECT PROPERTIES THAT ARE VACANT OR WHERE THE OCCUPANTS ARE NOT PRESENT DURING THE VISIT.
Our surveyors will take all reasonable precautions when undertaking surveys and are equipped with goggles, gloves, disposable overalls and face masks to minimise any potential risk of exposure to Covid-19.
We will check with all vendors and occupiers, not more than 24hrs before a survey inspection, that there are no persons in the property exhibiting typical symptoms of the Corona Virus and that no individuals are in self-isolation for health or other reasons. We will also check that there are no at-risk or vulnerable persons at the property.
SURVEYS MAY BE CANCELLED OR POSTPONED LAST MINUTE if access to the property is not possible due to infection or self-isolation of occupants or those providing access, or if the property will not be vacant at the time of inspection. Similarly our surveyors will not attend the property if they, or any members of their household, have any Covid-19 symptoms.
We continue to work in line with current Government guidance as outlined on the website and will continue to monitor and adapt to the situation as appropriate.
