Peter established Bird Charles Surveyors in 2013 and has overseen its development to one of the most respected and recommended surveying practices for residential building surveys in Prime Central London. Peter’s detailed survey inspections and with practical advice, married with his hands-on approach throughout the conveyancing process has garnered the trust of London’s leading legal advisers and buying agents in the prime and super-prime residential markets. His 22 years of surveying experience, in addition to his prior role in maintaining mechanical plant and services, ensure Peter can report comprehensively on all aspects of a property, including the critical installed services.
Whilst Peter is widely known throughout the industry for his residential surveying skills, he is also an established and respected party wall surveyor and RICS Registered Valuer. With his years of experience in commercial surveys and dilapidations as well, Peter is well placed to assist you with your every property requirements.

JONATHAN GRIMES MRICS

Matt is a Chartered Building Surveyor with 12 years experience. During his career he has undertaken a full range of building surveying and consultancy services including contract administration, project management, estate management, surveys (condition, building and PPM), new builds, refurbishments and licence to alter across many sectors such as healthcare, education, prisons, offices, landed and charitable estates and high end residential. He has experience wodking both client side and consultancy side having worked for the likes of The Bedford Estates and Knight Frank before joining Bird Charles in May 2023.

Julie is our Office Manager and has worked as Bird Charles since 2020. Her main role is to provide support to our clients, legal advisers, property agencies and our surveying team to ensure compliance with company objectives of outstanding service, meticulous attention to detail and commitment to excellence. She also undertakes the essential task of ensuring that the coffee machine is always fully stocked!
HELEN POTTER
Principle Administrator

Helen has been part of the Bird Charles team for 5 years, and is responsible for putting the surveyors reports together from surveyor dictation, conducting property searches to include flood, geology, listings etc. She also assists and covers for our Office Manager Julie.
Helen has an HR generalist background working at Amazon, Proctor & Gamble, Exel logistics (now DHL) then started family, as well as travelling Australia and South East Asia for 2 years.
ZOE BRADFORD

After taking a break to raise her family, following a successful corporate career, Zoe joined Bird Charles Surveyors in May 2023 as an Office Administrator.
Zoe plays a critical role along side the admin team, researching properties and preparing survey reports for the surveyors.

As we planned to expand further, we moved into bigger offices in Innovation House, Wokingham, and welcomed two new team members.
